Here are 5 ways to use rotisserie chicken for your next easy dinner

Published Tue, 25 Feb 2025 06:04:07 GMT

Much as I love to cook, I am unwilling to feel as though I am working inside the oven while trying to get dinner on the table. I’m all about keeping the cooking to a minimum but still prefer to make my meals at home rather than eating out during the work week. My solution is this compromise: rotisserie chicken. One of my favorite go-tos, rotisserie chicken is a terrific starting point, and one chicken can provide several meals. It is available at most local grocery stores, though quick-service restaurants such as Pollo a la Brasa, California Chicken Cafe and Zankou Chicken often do a better job and offer the convenience of having your bird ready and waiting for you to pick up if you call ahead to order it. Yes, you can also order some side dishes and bring home a full meal, but my fridge is often full of leftovers begging to be part of another meal. When I don’t have a lot of leftovers hanging around, there are plenty of staples and pantry items that can quickly come together for a ta...

Hey Jaime, my name is Samantha and I’m a longtime fan of the show and wanted to ask your opinion on something for the dilemma. Two weeks ago I loaned a friend of mine $750 dollars to get her car fixed. She was in a real jam and stressing out about the money so I loaned it to her. Now she claims she’s broke, but in the last two weeks I’ve seen her wearing three pairs of new shoes and a few other things I’ve never seen on her before. She hasn’t mentioned the money to me and hasn’t made any effort to pay me anything back. So what should I do? How long should I wait to expect her to start making payments? Can I demand it all back a once? What would you do? Hope you will use this so I can get some good advice. Thanks.SamanthaWell, I was told a long time ago by my dad that you should never loan anyone money if y...

Ask Amy: Cousin debates disclosing brutal truth

Published Tue, 25 Feb 2025 06:04:07 GMT

Dear Amy: My younger cousin, “Thomas,” recently moved close enough to make visits between us possible.Thomas is married to a lovely woman. They’ve extended an invitation to me, my husband, and adult children, to come to their new place for dinner. This would be lovely, except that his father, who was married to my mother’s sister, sexually molested me and my sister when we were young.I have no desire to be anywhere near this creepy uncle.I never let him near my own children, unsupervised, when they were young, and they have no relationship with him.My mother and her sister are both long-deceased, and I have no idea if they knew what was going on when my sister or I would babysit for Thomas and sleep at the house overnight. My dad mentioned knowing about this before he died. I am sad that he didn’t confront his brother-in-law and protect his own daughters. How do I beg off visiting my cousin without opening up this can of worms? They have no children, so at least that’s not something I n...

“Did you ever play a musical instrument?” I asked Unlucky Louie in the club lounge.“I was a percussionist in my high school band,” he replied.“I’ve always wondered what somebody had to know to play the cymbals,” I mused.“Nothing,” Louie shrugged, “except when.”Louie was East in today’s deal from his penny game, and West led the deuce of spades against South’s four hearts (reached with a “transfer” auction). Louie knew the lead was a singleton; he took the K-A and led a third spade for West to ruff.GOOD SPADESThe defenders had their book, but South won West’s diamond shift, drew trumps, discarded his remaining diamonds on dummy’s good spades and claimed the rest.
