The owner of the Aspen Snowmass resorts is complaining about a high-end fashion company that keeps sending so-called “influencers” to its ski areas to be photographed in pricey attire.Aspen Skiing Co. filed a lawsuit Wednesday that accuses Perfect Moment, a London-based skiwear maker, of trademark infringement, among other allegations. The dispute began in March 2021, when Perfect Moment posted photos of female influencers modeling its skiwear on Instagram and other social media sites. Within weeks, Aspen Skiing noticed the photos, realized they were taken on its lifts and slopes, and sent a cease-and-desist letter to London. Some, but not all, of the posts were deleted as a result.“Perfect Moment intentionally chose to conduct its commercial photoshoot at the ASC Resorts to trade on (its) goodwill and consumer recognition,” Aspen Skiing says now. Then, for two-and-a-half years, the companies got along, according to this week’s lawsuit.Until October, when Perfect Moment posted photos ...Houston awarded safety Kareem Jackson on waivers, ending Broncos tenure

Kareem Jackson’s tenure in Denver is finished and he’s headed back to where his football career started. The former Broncos safety was awarded via waiver claim to the Houston Texans on Tuesday after Denver waived him Monday, according to the NFL’s transaction wire.Jackson hasn’t played since Nov. 19 against Minnesota, when he incurred a four-game suspension for the latest in a series of high hits and unnecessary roughness penalties. He was eligible to return Sunday against New England, but Denver used a one-game roster exemption to buy more time and then waived him Monday rather than making a roster move to create a spot for him.The Broncos likely would have signed him to their practice squad had he cleared waivers, but now he’ll head to the Texans’ 53-man roster.Jackson had played the past four seasons for the Broncos but spent the first nine years of his career in Houston. There, he’ll be reunited with head coach DeMeco Ryans, with whom he ...California rings in 2024 with new laws focused on firearms, cannabis and workers' rights

If you're on social media threatening the lives of people, you shouldn't have a gun," said the bill's author, State Sen. Anthony Portantino (D-Burbank).The law was supposed to take effect on January 1, but was blocked by a U.S. District Judge, meaning the law will make its way to federal court and likely the US Supreme Cour...Kenneth Caufield Dies in Head-On Collision on Lake Shore Drive [Waco, TX]
